Welcome to Ketchikan, Salmon Capital of the World

An inland passage cruise from Vancouver to Alaska proved to be one of the most photo-producing adventures of all my travels. The state of Alaska is a vast expanse of mountains, forest, and glaciers, only occasionally interrupted by human settlement.

The small city of Ketchikan is famous for three reasons:

1. It is the Salmon Capital of the World

2. It is is the Totem Pole Capital of the World

3. It is the Rain Capital of all of Alaska, so if you happen to visit on the rare sunny day, you will have something to talk about for the rest of your life.
