Unionville is an historic village within the city of Markham, Ontario. It’s full of restored houses dating back a hundred years or more, along with small shops and restaurants. The Main Street is narrow and closed to vehicular traffic, making it a popular walkabout. It’s very pretty, perhaps to a fault.
Sometimes the back of buildings is more interesting than the front, which is why a photographer should keep an eye out for the unexpected. Check out the back alley or the parking lot and see what’s there. You may find you’re the only tourist who ever thought the scene worthy of a photo.
