Inventions such as this horse-drawn harrow greatly increased a farmer’s productivity. And oh, the time saved and the sheer comfort of riding over walking when you had 40 acres or more to pulverize. The harrow is used after plowing to soften up the soil. Even after tractors became common, farmers often kept such equipment on hand. Modern stuff, they said, had a habit of breaking down.
