Hiking through the mountains one summer day I came across this subtle display of jagged edges and variegated colour. On such mountain walls plant life somehow germinates, trees grow, birds build their nests, and goats and deer clamber up and down. Trite observations for a native resident of British Columbia, perhaps, but as a prairie kid I continue to be amazed by such sights.
