The Flats of Boundary Bay

A walk along Crescent Beach, bordering Boundary Bay outside of Vancouver, produced this image of a low tide that extended far from the shoreline.

The scenery was spectacular, the hike somewhat arduous but well worth the effort.

This is the classic toadstool of the Pacific Northwest, growing wild beneath the huge conifer trees.

This is one of only six such mazes in all of North America. It’s an adventure to enter and find one’s way to the exit.

The cherry tree is an unspoken reminder of the bond between Canada and Japan.
