Close inspection of the insignia on the bumper reveals identity to be that of a Pontiac Deluxe, probably from 1937. The model was considered to be a sleek, innovative design. Note the divided windscreen with dual wipers. The body was all steel, which was a first, since up until then wood was extensively used in the frame of automobiles.
And those headlights! – this model marked the first such placement, being on each side of the hood close together, rather than on the wings. The Deluxe also had a swell interior, so much so that General Motors marketed this as “America’s Finest Low-Priced Car”.
