A Lesson in Colour Film Photography

A photographer soon learns that his own visual focus is far different than the actual photographic focus on the film.

What Ansel Adams valued in his photos of the wilderness, he said, was “a mystique: a valid, intangible, non-materialistic experience.”

With this image I was consciously striving for a photograph that resembled something my talented younger brother would have painted.

This image is useful in the depiction of what camera enthusiasts refer to as bokeh – the facility to blur the background.

The angle in this image, from the extreme left side, allowed the capture of all this partial detail, revealing a sense of depth.
