The Real Water Lilies at Sandpiper

It was almost by accident that I discovered this pond along the Harrison River in British Columbia.

This image was the result of an errant golf shot, hooked into the bushes at the Redwoods golf course.

Botanists now believe that trees form a communications network, sharing nutrients and soil information.

The decision in favour of black and white film, and the selected focus blurring the background, were conscious aesthetic choices.

The Group of Seven painters started up in Ontario back in the 1920s, and painted such scenes as this.
