“Colour negates all of photography’s three-dimensional values,” said the famous photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson. But on this morning the impact of the snowfall defied and contradicted that judgment by creating a muted scene.
The viewer is drawn into the image through the parallel lines of the roadway and the trees. The deliberate choice was made to produce a portrait image, further enhancing the sense of depth. The three dimensions are fully evident.
