The Quick-Way to Business Failure

You never know what you’re going to see walking down a back alley.

This photo was taken during a walk-about in the older, poorer section of town – which is where I could afford to live at the time when my best friend Dale and I were building cabinets for our record store.

The picture speaks to me of a failed business venture, and the irony of appealing to people looking for a cheap way to make a household move. My father was involved in a similar short-lived attempt to establish a moving and transfer company, so I sympathized with the hapless owner of this back-yard discard. Apparently, he couldn’t even afford to repair it or dump it.

This vehicle looks alive to me; it has a face and a rueful smile.

There is no other colour better than black. There are many others that are appropriate and happy, but those colours belong on flowers.” ~ Massimo Vingelli
