Not only do birds of a feather stick together, but it appears that starfish do as well. Amid all these purple creatures are two strangers – orange in colour. A bit of research tells me that there are more than 30 species of starfish. They come in a host of colours: brilliant red, orange, purple, blue, grey, brown, mottled and more. They can be smooth, beaded or spiky; they can survive in shallow waters or in the depths.
All starfish species have three things in common: they have multiple arms (up to 24), they can regenerate their limbs, and they are skilled ocean hunters, travelling in squads. I somehow managed to find this one burst of orange in a sea of red.
